Madrid Motor Show Gallery

We take a look at a few of the highlights of this year's Madrid Motor Show.

This week we've been to one of Spain's biggest motoring events: the Madrid Motor Show.

Unsurprisingly the big news came from home favourite SEAT. The Spanish firm used the expo to give it's all-new Ibiza supermini it's first public airing.

But there was plenty of other new and interesting metal for the crowds to get excited about. We've gathered together a selection for you to check out.

1. SEAT Ibiza

It’s no surprise to find SEAT at the heart of the action at this year’s Madrid Motor Show. The Spanish maker chose this year’s event to publicly unveil its new five door Ibiza. A stylish three-door version called the Sportcoupe will make its debut at July's British Motor Show.



 
2. Ford Focus CC

Created by famous Spanish fashion designer David Delfin, this Focus CC featured eye-catching matt paintwork. Inside, the cabin was trimmed in distinctive multi-coloured materials.



 
3. Kia ECO Pro_cee'd

Korean firm Kia wowed local crowds with it ultra efficient Pro_cee'd concept car. Set for launch in 2009 the model is powered by a 1.6-litre diesel. Kia claims the car will return almost 70mpg. It'll be followed by other ECO models.



 
4. Cadillac CTS-V

While fuel efficient models from SEAT and Kia were certainly popular, nothing beats the appeal of an American muscle car. This year Cadillac showed its high performance CTS-V, fresh from lapping the legendary Nurburgring in 7 mins 59 seconds.

5. Audi S3

Upmarket German car maker Audi chose Madrid Motor Show for the public unveiling of its powerful S3 Sportback. It’s the first time the firm has paired its the badge with a five door evolution of the car – to great effect.



 
6. Audi Q5

Making its European debut was the Audi Q5. The latest addition to the growing compact SUV sector apes the look of its big brother the Q7, and will provide stiff competition for the BMW X3 and Land Rover Freelander.



 
7. Audi metroproject quattro

Star of last year's Tokyo Motor Show, this supermini concept forms the basis of a forthcoming Audi supermini. Rumoured to be called the A1, it will go head-to-head with MINI and should hit showrooms late next year.



 
8. SEAT Alhambra ECOmotive

Spanish firm revealed a green version of its seven-seater. Like smaller cars in the company's line-up, it boasts a host of aerodynamic and mechanical tweaks that lower fuel consumption and CO2.
