LED torch gives you a head start!

Working on a car at night normally means holding a torch with one hand – limiting what you can do under the bonnet. But not with the neat new Silva L4 head torch.

Operated by a single rubber button, the unit couldn’t be easier to use. This same control also toggles between power save, medium, bright and blinking modes, as well as a red LED beam for use with night vision filming.

A pivoting mount lets you alter the beam angle by 90 degrees, and in our test, it provided a clear, wide spread of white light 15 metres away – which is exactly what the maker claims.

As the lamp is light and compact, and has an adjustable strap, it’s very c.omfortable to hold. The fact that you get batteries and a case thrown in as part of the package is
