Targa-top car gets choice of 3.6 or 3.8-litre flat-six engines
Porsche is looking to raise the roof with another version of its facelifted 911! This is the Targa – a mix between a coupé and convertible, with a two-piece sliding glass lid.
As with other cars in the line-up, the most important changes are under the bonnet. The Targa 4 and 4S are fitted with 340bhp 3.6 and 380bhp 3.8-litre flat-sixes respectively. This is enough for 0-60mph in five seconds for the lesser version, which is fitted with the firm’s new seven-speed PDK double-clutch box. The more powerful 4S is three-tenths-of-a-second quicker, and goes on to a top speed of 185mph.
The newcomers go on sale in the UK on 25 October, with prices from £72,980 for the 4 and £80,270 for the 4S.
