New monitor shuts off battery if voltage drops too low

09th August 2008

Ever left your lights on overnight and come out to a car that refuses to start the next morning? Now, thanks to Battery Brain, you can start the vehicle every time, no matter what equipment you forget to turn off.

The device simply attaches to your vehicle’s 12V terminals and comes with a push-button interior control or set of remotes. Installation can be carried out by any competent mechanic with the aid of simple tools.

If Battery Brain detects a drain on the system, the supply is disconnected, ensuring that the 12V won’t completely discharge. That means there’s always enough power to restart the engine.

There are four models – Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum. The latter two can disconnect the battery if there is an attempt to start the car when armed – acting as an immobiliser. All models in the range use an auto disconnect facility and can be reset manually. Finally, any settings such as the radio presets or clock are safe, thanks to a separate memory circuit.

It’s suitable for use on all vehicles and the maker claims it will save users money, as they won’t have to replace tired batteries as often.
