It’s back to the future for Aston Martin! The sports car maker has revealed plans to revive its famous Lagonda badge, last used on the ultra-luxurious and angular four-door saloon in the Seventies and Eighties.
Aston chief executive Dr Ulrich Bez has confirmed the new Lagonda won’t be a sports car. Instead, it will be distinct from the rest of the range and “take elements from the past” while also being “exclusive, luxurious and truly versatile”.
The newcomer is likely to rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley for price and quality. It’s the latest in a flurry of new Astons that include the four-door Rapide, due next year, and the recently confirmed One-77 hypercar – the firm’s rarest and most expensive model ever.
A concept version of the Lagonda is set to debut at March’s Geneva Motor Show – marking Aston’s 100th birthday in style.
