The all-new Forester is getting boxer diesel power! Subaru’s highly acclaimed new engine is the world’s first horizontally opposed oil-burner, and from the end of this month it will feature in the latest SUV.
The 2.0-litre has 145bhp and 350Nm of torque, yet returns class-leading 44.8mpg economy and emits 167g/km of CO2.
This powerplant has already appeared in the Legacy range, and is also due to feature in the Impreza from January. However, it will be uprated for the hatch to give 148bhp.
