Number up for next Getz

Five-door i20 will follow three-door.

Check out this ‘i-catching’ new Hyundai! It’s the i20, which is set to make its debut at the Paris Motor Show next month.

The firm’s Getz replacement goes on sale in January initially as a three-door – but it will face some stiff competition from the latest Ford Fiesta, which is available to order now.

Because the car enters such a tough sector, Hyundai has taken equipment into another league from that of the outgoing Getz. In fact, the maker claims the i20 will feature class-leading standards of kit, including iPod connectivity, as well as outstanding cabin space and fuel economy. After the three-door arrives in showrooms, it will be followed by a practical five-door variant, which goes on sale in April. Prices have not yet been announced, but are likely to start at about £9,000.
