Kia’S new Soul is out on the open road, and here’s the first picture of the hatch in action! It’s set to take centre stage on the Korean firm’s stand when it makes its world debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show. The right-hand-drive version will go into production in March, before appearing in showrooms later in the spring.

Buyers of the newcomer will have a choice of 124bhp petrol or diesel power, with the latter delivering 255Nm of torque. By squeezing a generous amount of space into a wheelbase barely longer than a MINI’s, the stylish Soul is destined to be a success.

However, rivals are strong, particularly with the new Ford Fiesta upping its game, so the Kia will be priced competitively from around £7,995.
