Say hello to the Alto – Suzuki’s all-new city car. Revealed at the Paris Motor Show, the cute five-door hatchback will be taking on the Hyundai i10 and new Ford Ka when it reaches showrooms in the spring.
It's powered by a frugal 68bhp 1.0-litre three cylinder engine which returns 62.7mpg and emits just 103g/km of CO2. The Alto is built at Suzuki’s plant in New Delhi, India, and is set to bolster the firm’s status as the biggest seller of small cars in the world. Incredibly, the firm already shifts between two and three million small cars every year worldwide, outstripping companies like Fiat and Toyota.
Expect the new Alto to be available in two trims – one with stability control as standard – and to have a starting price of around £7,000.
