You wouldn’t think a Caterham with a 500bhp V8 would be too popular in the financial climate. But just a few months after this power-crazed two-seater came on to the market, it’s sold out.
The RS Levante has close to 1,000bhp per tonne – nearly double that of a Bugatti Veyron. It’s based on a lightweight Caterham SV chassis, but adds traction and launch control to get the power down. Only eight of the £125,000 models were made – all hand-built by RS Performance in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire.
