Bilt-Hamber Auto-foam

Latest formula is grease lightning.

31st October 2008

Rinsing your car before tackling it with a bucket and sponge is a crucial stage when washing. But even with loads of clean water you can still be left with dirt and grime on the surface. That’s where Bilt-Hamber’s Auto-foam comes in – it’s a degreaser and cleanser that claims to shift any contaminants.

To use the product you need a pressure washer with a detergent reservoir, and while the instructions don’t spell out what ratio of Auto-foam to water is best, we found it worked fine. The foam clung to our test model’s body, and left a clean surface ready for washing. It’s also suitable for glass, wheels and tyres, and so should be used to cover the whole vehicle.

The product certainly left the surface better prepared than just using water, and has a fresh citrus smell. It comes in five-litre bottles, direct from the manufacturer.

Problems? Instructions could be better, only works with certain pressure washers.
So why buy? Removes dirt and grime ready for washing, and the big five-litre bottle should last a long time.
