T time for Bentley thriller

World's most luxurious drop-top now comes with more power

Bentley Azure

12th November 2008

If the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead or Bentley Continental GTC are too modern for you, here’s a slice of old-school charm. The Bentley Azure just got better, with the introduction of the Azure T.

The ultimate boulevard cruiser now has an engine to match its size – a version of the Crewe firm’s 6.75-litre V8, producing 500bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. That’s 50bhp and 125Nm more than before.

Performance figures are firmly in super-saloon territory, with a 0-60mph time of 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 179mph – amazing for a car weighing nearly three tonnes! The Azure T also features new 20-inch alloy wheels, front wing vents and a retractable Flying ‘B’ mascot.

It debuts at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month.
