18th November 2008

Hear this Leon roar! SEAT has revealed details of a new Linea R trim level for its hatch, inspired by the company’s World Touring Car Championship winner.

The model gets a big honeycomb air intake, larger bumpers and sculpted side vents. There are also chrome wing mirrors and twin steel tailpipes. Sporty touches inside include a leather gearknob and steering wheel, plus aluminium pedals.

Buyers will get a choice of 158bhp 1.8 TSI and 197bhp 2.0-litre TSI petrol engines – the latter is sourced from parent firm Volkswagen’s Golf GTI. There’s also a 168bhp 2.0-litre TDI diesel, although top brass at SEAT have yet to reveal any details about prices. P88: WTCC report
