Safety cameras are big business in the UK – and the devices you can buy to beat them even more so. Keeping up-to-date can be time-consuming, unless you have one of Coyote Systems’ locators. Every time it’s switched on, it downloads the latest information.

More than 60,000 have been sold in France, and now it’s available here. A GPRS modem transmits data between users so when new or mobile cameras are spotted, other subscribers can be told of their location within three seconds at the touch of a button – and the news stays live for up to three hours. A standard GPS database is also included for fixed cameras and historical information.

Audio and visual warnings, including current and maximum speeds, are used. The battery lasts up to 10 hours, and can be recharged from the car or via USB link to a computer. The device is mounted in the cabin with the supplied windscreen cradle and the package includes a three-month subscription.
