Fiesta Saloon

18th November 2008

The wheels keep turning at Ford. Despite narrowly missing out to the Vauxhall Insignia in this year's European Car of the Year, Ford's new-look Fiesta is set to be made into a saloon.

Debuting at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China, the forthcoming Fiesta saloon will be go on sale in 2010.

Currently there are no plans for the new Fiesta to go on sale in UK but Ford hasn’t ruled it out. The United States and Canada expected to be its major markets. The cars will be manufactured in Thailand and Mexico with a separate production facility in Beijing providing models for the growing Chinese market.

Ford has also announced it will invest billion in its Cuautitlan, Mexico facility allowing it to raise capacity to 500,000 units annually whilst also creating another 4,500 jobs.
