Performance car builder Mitsubishi has become the latest car manufacturer to confirm that it is planing to launch an electrically powered car in the US.

Backing that up, the firm also showed off its battery powered i MIEV at the L.A Motor Show.

First launched in 2005, the i MIEV is by no means a brand new vehicle, however, what is unexpected is that Mitsubishi is openly discussing bring the model and its technology to America.

The rear wheel drive, four seat model has a top speed of 80mph, and a range of around 80 miles.
