Take a look at the most ferocious Jaguar ever! This prototype version of the new XFR super-saloon has emerged from the wild – and Auto Express has the first pictures.
The flagship model, painted a dramatic red, looks every bit as stunning as the Coupé, which we revealed in Issue 1,040.
But to separate it from the rest of the family, the more menacing XFR gets a number of visual enhancements. The front grille has been blacked out, while at the back there are quad exhaust pipes. The ride height has been lowered, and the car is tuned for improved performance and grip. Plus, 20-inch alloys are fitted.
Sources closely linked to the firm have also revealed the Jag will benefit from a supercharged version of the 4.2-litre V8 unit used in the standard models.
It will be uprated to deliver 500bhp – that’s 90bhp more than the regular saloon.
The XFR will be launched before the end of 2009, which is ahead of the scheduled arrival of the Coupé. The BMW M5 and Audi RS6 rival is likely to have a price tag of around £50,000.
