Price right for Focus RS

Bodykit and big rear wing mark flagship out – and it’s set to be a £25,000 performance bargain.

Ford Focus RS

17th December 2008

It's official! Not only is Ford’s new Focus RS set to be the most powerful hot hatch on the market when it goes on sale in March, it will also be one of the best value for money.

As we predicted last week, the 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbocharged engine will produce a staggering 296bhp. It rockets the RS from 0-62mph in 5.9 seconds and on to a theoretical top speed beyond 160mph, but production models will be electronically limited to 155mph. However, the car will cost £24,995, undercutting rivals such as the Renaultsport Mégane R26.R.

The 1,500 people who have already placed orders will be relieved to see the aggressive styling stays faithful to the stunning concept.
