Ford's New Look

Blue Oval's Design Future Revealed

Bold new design for US-favourite the Taurus

Ford Taurus

10th January 2009

Feast your eyes on Ford's new look...for the US market at least! The Blue Oval has unveiled its European-inspired Taurus, which goes on sale stateside this summer.

Taking cues from it's UK equivalent, the family saloon features a Mondeo-like front grille and headlights, a pedestrian friendly bulge in the bonnet and sharply-creased bodywork.

Under the hood there's the same 259bhp 3.5-litre Duratec V6 as the last model, but mated to a more efficient six-speed automatic 'box, meaning both CO2 emissions and fuel economy have improved.

The Taurus is unlikely to reach UK shores, but demonstrates that European car design is leading the way worldwide.
