Dodge has completed the Circuit!
At the Detroit Motor Show, the US company confirmed that its all-new electric car will be called the Circuit EV.
Based around the Lotus Europa but with battery power and an electric motor, the Circuit EV gets restyled front and rear ends and a fresh interior.
Its plug-in Tesla Roadster-style lithium-ion battery pack gives it a range of between 150 and 200 miles, all with zero emissions.
Promising similar performance to the Tesla Roadster – expect 0-60mph in around five seconds and a 125mph top speed – it remains to be seen just how expensive the new sports car will be, but it’s likely to cost a lot less than the £90,000 Tesla is currently charging for the Roadster.
It will go on sale in the US 2010 and in the UK in 2011. What’s more, Chrysler promises that it will have four electric vehicles on sale in world by 2013, which will include models from the Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler families.
