A Chinese car firm that turned to making cars to find an application for its battery technology has unveiled not one, but three new cars at the Detroit Motor Show...
BYD, which had already revealed details of its petrol electic hybrid hatchback, the FD3M also unveiled a new people carrier, called the E6, and a supermini called the FO.

The 2020kg E6 MPV has a range of 186mph, and will sprint from 0-60mph in only 8.6 seconds, thanks to a pair of electric engines delivering a total of 286bhp and 550nm of torque.
The FO meanwhile, with its Mercedes SMART inspired from lights and Toyota Yaris style bodywork gets a 1.3-litre 12v engine, a sequential gearbox, and a top speed of 93mph.
Both models could be on sale in the UK by early 2011.
