CTEK Comfort Indicator battery monitors - tested

Keep an eye on your battery’s charge with hi-tech monitor.

18th January 2009

Flat batteries are a motorist’s curse, but these neat monitors from charger specialist CTEK should ensure you are never caught out.

Each of the three versions of the Comfort Indicator features a three-colour LED display, which shows the state of your power pack. A green light means all is as it should be, amber suggests charging is needed, while red signals that the battery requires immediate reviving to prevent permanent damage. Two models are designed to remain under the bonnet; the £9.99 version features eyelets which can be bolted permanently to the battery terminals, and the £11.99 monitor uses crocodile clips.

The third version, which weighs in at £19.99, also uses eyelets, but the display is routed through to the cabin, where it can be installed in the dash or centre console.
