Ultimate TTs blast in!

Flagship turbo TT RS is fastest version ever, and comes Roadster or Coupé from launch.

The wraps are off the new Audi TT RS. Following the teaser shots revealed in Issue 1,052, here’s the flagship in all its glory. And the shock news is that it will be available as a Coupé and Roadster from launch.

In a nod towards the original Quattro rally car, the TT RS uses a 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo. It produces 340bhp and 450Nm of torque – enough for 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds. Top speed is restricted to 155mph, although the limiter can be removed for a 174mph maximum.

To cope with all that performance, Audi has beefed up the car’s brakes, lowered and stiffened the suspension and tweaked the four-wheel drive. A Sport button sharpens the settings and makes the exhaust louder, while the company’s magnetic dampers are an option.

Enlarged front air vents, a diffuser and fixed rear wing set the RS apart, as do sports seats and a flat-bottomed steering wheel. It’s due in the summer, starting at around £40,000.
