British firm Lotus gave the production version of the new Evora its debut in Geneva. Deliveries of the Porsche Cayman rival will begin in May with prices starting at £47,500.
The sleek mid-engined 2+2 is powered by a 280bhp 3.5-litre V6 and is capable of 0-62mph in around five seconds. Better still, the newcomer only produces CO2 emissions of 205g/km.
Customers will be able to choose from a range of equipment packs and there will even be an optional Sports button, which sharpens the car’s throttle response and liberates an extra 500rpm.
Lotus has already confirmed plans to develop an automatic model and even an Evora roadster, while a high performance version with more power is also likely.
Also on the firm’s showstand was the latest Exige S, which features a revised front end, larger rear wing and CO2 emissions of 199g/km – down from 216g/km. It will be available from April.
