New flagship KTM is stripped and ready to go

KTM X-Bow ROC

03rd March 2009

It looks as if KTM is planning to add a few more strings to its bow. The Austrian firm chose the Geneva Motor Show to unveil an all-new range topping X-Bow. It sports extra features, but is on sale for less money than the normal flagship variant.

The special edition X-Bow ROC comes with all the kit featured on the blistering Superlight version – including a carbon fibre monocoque shell and Audi’s 2.0-litre TFSI engine. But the limited run of 30 units will also boast a sports exhaust and Race of Champions badging. The stripped out two-seater was one of the cars used for the sporting contest held at Wembley Stadium last year.

Despite that, the price tag has been slashed by around 10,000 Euros, according to the firm, to 69,980 Euros.

Also gracing the KTM stand was the firm’s new entry-level X-Bow Street, which at 49,980 Euros is around 5,000 Euros cheaper than its predecessor.

Sadly, there was no sign of KTM’s city car. The firm said this won’t arrive until 2015.
