Supermini-MPV ready to take Kia in a new direction

Designers have been playing the numbers game at Kia. The Korean firm’s great looking new supermini-MPV concept not only points towards an all-new model, but it also debuts a brand new naming structure for the firm.

The No 3 is so called because it will take up the third position in the Kia line-up. First is the Picanto, second the Rio, then the compact five-door will step in to tempt buyers away from supermini-MPVs. When it goes into production, the newcomer will feature the number three in its badge, a numeric theme which will then be adopted by the rest of the range.

With sharp styling front and rear, the No 3 is drawing plenty of crowds at the Geneva show. The good news is that it’s said to be 95 per cent production ready. The showroom model will go on sale in the spring of 2010.
