Road legal track day special gets even more power and carbon brakes

Caparo T1

19th March 2009

If the standard version of Caparo’s T1 track day supercar isn’t powerful enough for you, the company has the answer.

This is the Race Extreme, which boasts a 620bhp 3.5-litre V8  – up from 575bhp – giving it a top speed of 208mph, and Formula One levels of acceleration with zero to 60mph in 2.8 seconds and 0-100mph in 5.8 seconds.

As well as the upgraded engine, the Race Extreme gets 355m carbon-ceramic brakes, with six-piston callipers at the front and four-piston callipers at the rear.

Owners can fully adjust the aerodynamics and suspension to set the car up for different racing circuits and tweak the engine’s ECU to adjust throttle response and gear change speeds.
