The wraps are off Skoda’s facelifted Octavia vRS, Auto Express can reveal. In line with the rest of the range, the high performance version gets a redesigned front grille and new headlights, which for the first time can be fitted with adaptive xenon units. Â
The vRS also gets front fog lamps with optional cornering function and LED lamps for daytime lighting. At the rear, the taillights are also new, while 18-inch alloys are available as is a new metallic paint colour, called Anthracite. A bodykit and vRS logos complete the look.
Other changes include a lowered suspension system and a weight reduction of up to 20kg. As ever, buyers can choose from two engines – a 200bhp 2.0 T FSI petrol and a 170bhp 2.0 TDI diesel. Both engines are available with a six-speed manual twin-clutch DSG transmission.
In other news, the Octavia Scout has also been facelifted. The rough and tough Audi Allroad-style estate gets a redesigned front grille, bold headlamps and body-coloured side mouldings plus the same adaptive front fog lights as the vRS. Sales of both models will start later this year.
