Lexus’s top-of-the-range IS F is evolving! Rumours have surfaced from Japan that the firm is planning a lighter, more focused version of its BMW M3 rival, called the IS F Evolution.
Likely to debut at October’s Tokyo Motor Show, and arrive in summer 2010, the hardcore saloon promises to weigh over 100kg less than the regular car. This will mainly be down to the extensive use of carbon fibre in the body panels and interior.
The 411bhp 5.0-litre V8 is likely to benefit from a minor boost in power, while fade-free carbon-ceramic brakes will
rein in the extra performance. Production will be limited to 500 examples worldwide, so buyers can expect a premium over the IS F’s £53,000 price.
