Teams like Brawn GP will probably be unaffected by a cut, but Ferrari looks to be hit the hardest
There will be a low-cost F1 option in 2010 - that's the news from the FIA, as they revealed that teams will be able to sign up to a £40million budget cap for next season.
In return for cutting costs, these outfits will be given greater technical freedom, including the use of novel
aerodynamics and engines that aren’t subjected to a rev limit.
They will also be allowed unlimited testing, while engine development costs, driver salaries and hospitality will
not be included in the £40m budget. However, the teams have not fully embraced the new rules, claiming a two-tier championship is not viable.
