Audi showed off its Q3-previewing concept, the Cross Coupe. The production version will be built in Barcelona at the VW Group's Martorelli plant.

Ford's Focus X Road takes a leaf out of the Audi Allroad's book with a raised ride height and chunky wheelarches. There are no plans to bring it to the UK, though.

The head-turning Qazanza made its Spanish debut. It previews an upcoming mini-SUV from Nissan, which will be built in Sunderland.

Vauxhall's plug-in electric family car, the Ampera, was a big hit in Spain. It goes on sale here in 2012.

Watch out Audi! The Insignia VXR is a cut-price S4, with four-wheel drive and a 321bhp 2.8-litre turbocharged V6.
