VW's 'Ampera' is coming

The electric dream moves a step closer for Volkswagen at this September’s Frankfurt Motor Show – as the German firm will take the wraps off an all-new electric concept.

Following in the footsteps of eco concepts like the Golf Twin Drive diesel hybrid (pictured) and up! city car, it will be solely electric, and could rival Vauxhall’s Ampera. According to insiders, development of the electric drivetrain is at an advanced stage, and bosses are looking to use their home show to highlight the technology.
