Audi’s ‘baby’ SUV, the Q5, is showing its mean streak. For this year’s GTI meeting, where VW and Audi enthusiasts flock to the Austrian town of Worthesee, the usually reserved manufacturer has produced a pumped up version of the Q5.
Boasting an imposing body kit, a reworked chassis and a retuned version of the savage 3.0-litre V6 found in the S4, Audi hasn’t held back. The lofty Q5 adopts a more aggressive stance thanks to its lower and wider bodywork, while 21-inch, seven spoke alloys have also been fitted, their pink rims jutting from the flared arches.
Power output is up 75bhp over the standard S4 to 402bhp and 500Nm of torque, enough to catapult the 1.7-tonne car to 60mph in a mere 4.4 seconds and on to a limited top speed of 155mph. Donning a matte Daytona Gray paintjob accented with flares of pink, the wheels, roof-bars, rear-spoiler and front skirt are all highlighted in the lurid tone.
The addition of sports seats, steel-plated pedals and decaled mats mean that whether you are inside or outside this car, it’s designed to draw attention. Expect to see pink flashed replicas on a high-street near you very soon…
