Topping the bill of the new models at MINI's birthday bash was the MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50, the highest-spec model ever to bear the Cooper nameplate and a celebration of John Cooper’s legendary car-tuning expertise.
Finished in John Cooper’s signature colour, Connaught Green, the new flagship uses the same 208bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged powerplant as the standard MINI JCW, but adds every extra imaginable. Jet-black 17-inch alloys and carbon-trim on the front air intake, rear apron and mirror-housing add to the car’s menacing appearance, while the white bonnet stripes are emblazoned with John Cooper’s autograph.
But you better be quick - only 250 examples of the race-inspired special edition will ever be built, but there’s no word on price just yet, but expect it to be just as eye-watering as the car’s performance.
