Take a look at America’s newest supercar! The Devon Motorworks GTX might look like just another fantasy – but this is a car with very real intentions.
Designed by former Ford employee Daniel Paulin, whose portfolio includes the six-wheel Thunderbird FAB1 and the Ford C-MAX, the GTX is described as a blend of old-school American design fused with minimalist modern styling.
In profile, there’s more than a passing resemblance to the Dodge Viper, which is no coincidence. The independent company behind the project, Devon Motorworks, has already approached Chrysler with a multi-million dollar bid to buy the Viper brand. On the inside, clean and uncluttered surfaces are trimmed in a blend of white and brown leather with piano black trim.
A prototype of the GTX will debut alongside some of the most exclusive cars on the planet at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. But that won’t be the first time it causes a stir in public.
Although there’s no word on what engine will provide the power, our sources say that Devon is planning an assault on the Nürburgring lap record in July, to help build publicity for the car’s launch. But the model will only be made in very
limited numbers.
