Take a look at Kia’s facelifted Picanto – which can’t arrive soon enough, according to the Korean manufacturer.
Bosses say sky-high demand for the current model under the Government Scrappage Scheme means stocks could run dry long before this version – called the Morning in its home market – is launched in the autumn.
Orders already stretch back to September – shortly before the revamped car is due. That means some buyers will be put on the facelifted model’s waiting list. However, this could cause problems for dealers, claims Kia, as the price hasn’t been set.
A spokesman said: “At some point, we’ll have to stop taking any more orders.” New features include black and chrome ‘petal’ alloys similar to those on the Soul MPV, plus a four-spoke steering wheel and glossy tail-lights. An optional Sport pack is also on the cards, with a sculpted, diffuser-style rear bumper, side skirts and a new front bumper with spoiler and diamond-shaped foglights.
