Take a look at BMW’s most fuel efficient 3-Series to date, which is set to combine good economy and low emissions with a rewarding driving experience when it goes on sale in September.
The BMW 316d has a range of over 800 miles and, powered by a 1,995cc four-cylinder diesel engine, offers an average of 62.8 mpg. Coupled with CO2 emissions of just 118g/km, this saloon is the cleanest 3 Series BMW have ever made.
In terms of performance, the BMW 316d’s engine is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox and has a 116Hp output with a torque of 260Nm from 1,750rpm, delivering a 0-62 time of 10.9 seconds onto a top speed of 125mph.
The BMW 316d ES Saloon will be on sale as of September, priced from £23,330, and its economy and CO2 emissions put it in the VED road tax bracket band C (costing £35 per year) and in the 13% benefit-in-kind band.
