Audi's 35-metre high structure will form the centre-piece for the Festival of Speed

02nd July 2009

Audi is reaching for the skies! Every year since 1997 Lord March has stunned visitors to the Goodwood festival of Speed with ever more spectacular art installations, and 2009 is no exception.

Forming the focus for Audi’s centenary celebrations at the festival will be a 35-metre high monument depicting an R8 V10 supercar and a legendary 1937 Auto Union streamliner soaring into the air.

Designed by award-winning Gerry Judah, the 40-tonne structure required two 100-tonne cranes to erect outside Goodwood house, and took 12 men four weeks to fabricate.
