Diesel do nicely for fresh 407 Coupé

Diesel do nicely for fresh 407 Coupé

New diesel lump for 407

10th July 2009

Not to be outdone by the 308 RC Z, the 407 Coupé is being updated – and the big news is that Peugeot has dropped petrol engines altogether from the range!

Cars will be offered only with a revised 163bhp 2.0-litre HDi diesel – up from 136bhp – or a 3.0-litre V6 HDi, which produces 241bhp and 450Nm of torque. The latter gives a 0-62mph time of 7.7 seconds – that’s four-tenths quicker than the outgoing 2.7-litre oil-burner.

The styling has been mildly revised, with a new chrome strip on the side windows, and Bluetooth is connectivity as standard. Prices start at £22,990 for the 2.0-litre HDi, and rise to £27,490 for the V6.
