Forget scrolling through your car’s sat-nav system to find the right town. Audi A8 owners will soon be able to jot down their destinations by hand!
Reports in Germany have revealed the Ingolstadt firm’s forthcoming limo replacement will feature handwriting recognition technology. This will do away with the need to use fiddly digital keyboards or laboriously select letters with a dial. Instead you ‘draw’ them and let the clever software work out your destination.
It’s not the first time an A8 has had hands-on gadgetry. Buyers of current versions can select the option of fingerprint recognition, which adjusts the settings of the driver’s seat, mirrors and climate control to individual preferences.
The new is model expected to be offered in two sizes: regular and a long-wheelbase version. It will be revealed at the end of the year, with sales starting in 2010.
