New look for Kia cee'd

Kia's Focus-rival gets new family face and a low emission ECO-dynamics version

Kia cee'd

10th August 2009

The Kia cee'd is putting on a brave new face! An updated version of the Korean firm's best-selling hatch will break cover at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

On the outside the cee'd has grown by 25 millimetres in length and gained the new Kia signature grille. The interior benefits from a revised steering wheel, red instrument illumination, a new centre console and updated stereos.

A new ECO-dynamics version will be launched for the first time in the UK, too. Featuring stop-start technology and other fuel-saving measures, CO2 emissions on this economy-focused model will be as low as 110g/km.

Full UK range details and pricing will be announced closer to the on sale date of October 1.

Two steps forward, one step back...

The current version of the C'eed may not be a stunner to look at, but neither is it unattractive, especially in its two door incarnation. Can't help feeling this new model is a retrograde step however...
