Meet the 272mph Lotus

US tuner Hennessey has given the Lotus Exige a power boost.

The 257bhp four-cylinder engine has been replaced with a supercharged and twin-turbo 1,200bhp V8, meaning the Venom GT hits 60mph in 2.4 seconds and has a 272mph top speed.

A £375,000 price is likely for the right-hand-drive version, set to debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
