The success of the Infiniti M is a virtual certainty! In a world first, Nissan's luxury arm unveiled it's all-new BMW 5-series, Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6 rival at Pebble Beach, without the car actually being there. A 3-D holographic representation revealed the sports saloon in all its glory, while the first official photos of the newcomer were released to the press simultaneously.
Now in its third generation, this is the first iteration of the Infiniti M that will go on sale in Western Europe, as well as 31 other markets around the world. A completely new curvaceous body takes inspiration from coupe-inspired saloons such as the Audi A5, but in a larger more luxurious package.
Engine choices include a 330bhp version of the 370Z's 3.7-litre V6 as well as a Renault-sourced 3.0-litre V6 diesel producing around 265bhp, both driving the rear wheels. A four-wheel steer system found on the Renault laguna could also be offered as an option.
The on-sale date is scheduled for Spring 2010 - we'll have more photos and details, including pricing, closer to its showroom debut.
