Vauxhall's cash car giveway

Vauxhall is cashing in on the success of the scrappage scheme! The firm's own research has revealed that over 150,000 old bangers have been scrapped since the incentiive began, for a cash bonus towards a younger model.

According to the research, London is driving the cars for cash scheme with almost one in ten owners upgrading their wheels, compared to Cornwall and East Anglia where only 1 per cent of drivers have scrapped their cars.

To mark London taking the title of the Banger Capital of Britain, Vauxhall created its very own cash car – an Astra covered in £2,000 worth of loose change - and invited hundreds of commuters at Liverpool Street station to pocket some free cash.
