Feast your eyes on the Fluence, an all-new saloon from Renault.
Designed as a replacement for the four-door version of the last-generation Mégane, it’s set to hit European showrooms later this year.
Renault bosses claim that the 4,620mm-long compact family car boasts more passenger space than any of its rivals.
The cabin comprises 23 litres of stowage space, including a nine-litre illuminated and refrigerated glovebox and a 2.2-litre centre console cubby.
For extra practicality, the rear seat can be folded 60/40, and there’s a 530-litre boot.
Two petrol and five diesel engines will be available from launch, but the French firm has also revealed an all-electric version will arrive some time in 2011.
Standard kit includes climate control with front and rear vents, emergency brake assist, stability control and up to six airbags. The options list includes dual-zone climate control, hands-free entry and ignition card – which automatically locks the doors as the card-holder walks away – and a range of audio systems.
The Fluence will be built in Turkey and will go on sale there and in eastern Europe in the autumn. Renault has yet to confirm plans for a UK launch.
