Peugeot BB1

Quirky electric concept squeezes in four passengers and measures only two and a half metres in length.

Peugeot has unveiiled that strangest-shaped car at the show! Dubbed the BB1 concept, the pure electric city car uses a clever-seating configuration to cram four passenger into its tiny footprint - smaller even than the Toyota IQ.

Twin electrc motors mounted inside the rear wheels give a combined output of around 20bhp, plenty of power for something weighing in at only 600kg.

And it wasn't the only electric car on Peugeot's patch in Frankfurt. The iOn is essentially a rebadged Mitsubishi MiEV, but that's no bad thing. It's lithium-ion batteries can deliver a 130km range, a top speed of 80mph and can be fully recharged in just six hours. Sales will start at the end of next year.

I love it!

Okay it is not for everyone but for those living in a city or nearby, it is perfect! Most of my journeys are under 10miles (shopping, work, collecting kids from school, doctors, and going out). Even the airport is about 30miles round trip! I have to admit the seats behind look a bit weird, but from what I see they do look like bike seats (passenger mind the driver) still not bad and no different than sports cars but where it is very resourceful in the space by giving me extra space for my groceries.
