A design student from Germany has created her own, spiky take on BMW’s future, the Lovos.
Anne Forschner, studying at Pforzheim University in Bretten, Germany, designed the Lovos to challenge the way we design, build and consume cars and other products.
Forschner built the majority of the car with 260 identical pieces of metal - the logic
behind it being that build and design costs and times are much lower
than usual when one component is repeated many times.
The Photovoltaic cells on the car aren't just for show either, they can be used for a number of purposes. To power the car using the sun’s energy, as a pointy design cue or as air brakes.
Very clever design study. Radical, really radical.
However, there are drawbacks. Cleaning the bugs off it will be a real challenge without losing body parts.
I christen it 'The Porcupine'. Enter at your own risk.
I just like it! Take it to a wind tunnel and make sure that is silent.
There are products that help to clean the bugs - no problem :)
The rims, too much drag?..
Good job!!!
Not my cup of tea really...
