Infiniti is taking on the established premium manufacturers in more ways than one! Taking inspiration from the BMW art cars which included creations from such artists as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Frank Stella back in the seventies, Nissan's aspiring luxury arm has turned one of its cars into a canvas to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Unveiled this week at the 14th Annual Canadian Art Gallery Hop Gala in Toronto, the colourful G37 Coupe is the work of Canadian artist Heidi Taillefer. According to Taillefer the drawings were inspired by the Cirque du Soleil - an entertainment company that also happens to be celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.

Taillefer was one of several artists asked to submit a design concept for the car, and her proposal, known as 'Ligozzi' was ultimately selected. She spent two months painting the vehicle.

Plans for the car include several appearances at Cirque du Soleil performance over the coming months, before eventually being auctioned for charity.
