The new PX-MiEV isn’t the only battery-powered Mitsubishi that’s set to plug in at Tokyo.
This is the i-MiEV Cargo.
As the name suggests, it uses the firm’s four-seater electric city car as a starting point, but ditches the rear seats in favour of a boxy extension that maximises luggage space.
There’s a huge 1,750 litres on offer, while the low floor makes loading large objects easy.
The Cargo has the same lithium-ion batteries and 63bhp (47kW) electric motor as the i-MiEV.
You can expect sprightly performance, with a 0-60mph sprint in around nine seconds and a 85mph top speed – which makes it more than a match for any of its battery-powered rivals.
The i-MiEV Cargo goes on sale in Japan in April, and is expected to make its debut in European showrooms in 2011.

The current car isn't exactly fast, then neither would this.
Imagine if you own a commercial vehicle, this is:
1. Tiny
2. Its electric - so no go without you house plug
3. And....if you load this, it will be slower than a tractor.
