UK car sales are blooming, and Abarth is boasting the biggest rise – with more than a 1,000 per cent increase in registrations this year compared to last! Thanks to the extended Scrappage Scheme and the new 59-plate, buyers are pouring into showrooms, the Society of Manufacturers and Traders says.
Hyundai and Kia both achieved the best September in their history, shifting more than 20,000 cars between them. Ford found buyers for 22,000 Fiestas, while more Mazda 2s were sold in a month than the old model managed in a year.
But Aston Martin, Mercedes, Porsche, Bentley and Jaguar saw a continued fall in demand.
